Dialysis Medical Social Worker

Responsibilities

The Medical Social Worker utilizes social work expertise and clinical knowledge to educate patients on the best choices for treatment, health, and wellness when living with kidney disease to enhance quality of life, and supports the social and emotional well-being of patients at Satellite Healthcare.

• Conduct psychosocial assessments.
• Participate in care planning and team review of the patient's current psychosocial needs.
• Provide management of services to assist patients in coping with issues associated with chronic kidney disease and dialysis treatments.
• Play a vital role in delivering the mission to make life better for those with kidney disease and the vision to be unsurpassed in individualized experience, quality, and compassion.

Requirements

• Preferable experience in other health and human services fields; medical experience highly desirable.
• One (1) year of work experience in a behavioral or healthcare‑related setting preferred.
• Master’s Degree in Social Work from an accredited CSWE institution.
• MSW required.
• LCSW/ACSW required; LCSW preferred in California.
• Licensure/LMSW required in states with licensure (TX, TN).
