ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Demonstrate effective use of supplies and staff labor hours.
- Aid with purchasing as needed: place orders, perform weekly and monthly inventory counts.
- Be familiar with inventory control procedures (FIFO) and assist in documenting and controlling excess inventory.
- Perform duties as assigned to meet patient care or operational needs of the clinic.
- Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain equipment as recommended by the manufacturer.
- Repair, calibrate, test, clean, and disinfect dialysis machines, water distribution loops, and ROs according to protocol.
- Perform water quality checks, including free chlorine, total chlorine, and water hardness testing.
- Conduct safety checks and tests on pretreatment water equipment, such as carbon tanks, water softeners, RO units, UV lamps, and ultrafilters.
- Collect samples for microbiology and AAMI analysis testing according to protocol.
- Disinfect central bicarbonate systems and mixing tanks, as well as RO, distribution systems, and hemodialysis machines, according to protocol.
- Mix bicarbonate and acid concentrate solutions according to protocol.
- Assist in receiving, storing, and stocking supplies.
- Be familiar with emergency equipment and operational procedures.
- Obtain quotes from contractors for addressing physical environment issues.
- Present technical summaries in Quality Assurance and Improvement (QAPI) meetings.
- Maintain collaborative working relationships with Administrators.
- Participate in staff meetings and continuing education offerings.
- Complete initial and annual technical training on clinical staff.
- Instruct staff in the use and care of equipment and answer questions.
- Participate in team concepts and promote a team effort.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver's license in applicable state, maintained without restrictions and with a good driving record.
- Previous dialysis, hospital, or medical experience preferred.
- Ability to distinguish all primary colors.
- Ability to react and perform under stress and in emergency situations.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Working knowledge of the English language.
- Ability to work independently and with others to plan and organize work assignments.
