About the role
Bierman Autism Centers is seeking a contract Diagnostician to join our team. The Diagnostician will conduct diagnostic evaluations for children suspected of having autism, utilizing a multi-disciplinary approach.
Responsibilities
- Carry out autism spectrum assessments, analyze and interpret data, and prepare evaluation reports.
- Design and implement parent support sessions tailored to individual and group needs.
- Develop and lead parent and sibling support groups for current clients.
- Consult with parents regarding the needs of their children.
- Compile, maintain, and file all relevant reports and documents.
- Select and utilize appropriate assessment materials and equipment.
- Communicate the company's mission and goals to the community and seek support for achieving these goals.
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, including BCBA, OT, and SLP professionals.
Requirements
- Education: PhD or PsyD in Psychology
- Licensure: NJ psychologist license, willing to obtain licenses in other states if necessary
- HSPP endorsement
- BCBA-D certification preferred, currently certified
- At least 1 year of experience diagnosing ASD; postdoctoral experience may be considered
- Experience administering various diagnostic measures to diagnose or rule out autism
- Proficiency in ADOS-2, CARS, GARS-2
- Excellent report writing and communication skills
- Organizational, time management, and prioritization skills
- Interest in conducting and publishing research
- Ability to travel within the assigned region, occasionally requiring out-of-area travel and overnight stays
Essential Functions
- Able to lift and carry clients weighing up to 30 pounds
- Able to restrain, hold, and transport clients as needed
- Able to assume and maintain various postures for extended periods
- Able to walk, run, and maintain a three-foot distance while chasing clients
- Able to sit for extended periods while working at a desk
- Able to perform specific computer and electronic device functions for data collection
- Able to read and comprehend written communication through various means
- Able to transfer written data to electronic files or databases
- Able to work on a computer for prolonged periods
