About the Role

The Diagnostic Ultrasound Technologist positions work independently to complete a variety of routine to complex diagnostic ultrasound procedures, including common and special ultrasound exams. These roles provide direct assistance to physicians with diagnostic and special ultrasound procedures, deliver exceptional patient care, and adhere to ultrasound exam standards and guidelines for optimal patient safety and customer service. Positions are part of the direct patient care team.

Responsibilities

Diagnostic Ultrasound Technologist I

• Perform routine diagnostic ultrasound procedures, including exams of moderate complexity
• Assist physicians with diagnostic and special ultrasound procedures
• Ensure adherence to ultrasound exam standards and guidelines
• Provide exceptional patient care and customer service

Diagnostic Ultrasound Technologist II

• Perform routine to complex diagnostic ultrasound procedures, including exams of high difficulty
• Mentor and train Ultrasound Technologist I and students
• Exercise sound judgment and advanced clinical skills on challenging diagnostic procedures
• Assist physicians with all diagnostic and special ultrasound procedures
• Ensure adherence to ultrasound exam standards and guidelines
• Provide exceptional patient care and customer service

Requirements

Diagnostic Ultrasound Technologist I

• Associate of Applied Science
• Graduate of a CAAHEP-accredited ultrasound program
• 0+ years of experience
• American Heart Association (BLS) certification
• One of the following credentials:
  • American Registry for Radiology Technologist (ARRT-VS)
  • American Registry for Diagnostic Sonography (RDMS- OB/GYN)
  • American Registry for Diagnostic Sonography (RDMS-AB)
  • American Registry for Diagnostic Sonography (RDMS-RVT)
  • American Registry for Diagnostic Sonography (RDMS-PS)
  • American Registry for Diagnostic Sonography (RDMS-MSKS)
  • American Registry for Diagnostic Sonography (RDMS-BR)

Diagnostic Ultrasound Technologist II

• Associate of Applied Science
• Graduate of a CAAHEP-accredited ultrasound program
• 3+ years of experience
• American Heart Association (BLS) certification
• Two of the following credentials:
  • American Registry for Diagnostic Sonography (RDMS-AB)
  • American Registry for Diagnostic Sonography (RDMS-MSKS)
  • American Registry for Diagnostic Sonography (RDMS-OB/GYN)
  • American Registry for Diagnostic Sonography (RDMS-PS)
  • American Registry for Diagnostic Sonography (RDMS-BR)
  • American Registry for Diagnostic Sonography (RDMS-RVT)
  • American Registry for Radiology Technologist (ARRT-VS)

Preferred Qualifications

• Breast registry or registry eligible (for Diagnostic Ultrasound Technologist I)

Skills

• Proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing English
• Effective communication with patients, physicians, family members, and coworkers
• Ability to work independently and handle challenging diagnostic procedures
• Sound judgment and above-average clinical skills
• Basic computer knowledge, including Hospital/Radiology Information Systems and Office software
