Breast Ultrasound Technician

About the role

The Breast Ultrasound Technician at Together Women's Health Imaging Center plays a crucial role in acquiring ultrasound images for medical diagnoses. This position adheres to established scopes and standards of practice, aligning with the organization's policies, values, and mission.

Responsibilities

• Greet all patients courteously and ensure their needs are met
• Review patient identification and verify physician orders
• Gain patient cooperation by reducing anxieties, providing explanations of imaging procedures, explaining equipment, and answering questions
• Review images, make initial observations, document exceptions from established protocols, and communicate data to physicians
• Maximize production and quality of ultrasounds by following established standards and procedures
• Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following and enforcing standards and procedures
• Document patient ultrasound services by completing patient record charting
• Participate in process improvement activities within radiology practice including quality of care, patient flow, reject-repeat analysis, and patient satisfaction
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Graduate of a certified ultrasound program
• ARDMS certified and in good standing
• Extensive breast ultrasound experience
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact with patients in a professional and caring manner
