Diagnostic Technologist - Outpatient Medical Imaging (Full-Time, Temporary, Days)

Position Summary

The Diagnostic Technologist – Outpatient’s primary responsibilities include positioning patients for x-rays, operating X-ray equipment, processing images, documenting them in PACS, providing basic patient care under the supervision of the clinic nurse, performing selected procedures as defined in the Patient Care Standards Manual, and ensuring the area is orderly and well-stocked with supplies and equipment.

Minimum Qualifications

• Previous hospital, back office, or non-emergency clinic services experience
• One-year experience in an Ambulatory Care setting
• Current full Certificate of Radiologic Technology issued by the Department of Health Services, State of California (CRT)
• Current CPR Certification
• Fluoroscopy Permit (to be obtained within 6 months of hire)

Desired Qualifications

• Current licensure issued by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities

• Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of human structure and function, patient care, positioning, principles of radiographic exposure and quality assurance
• Must have medical terminology knowledge
• Must be self-motivated
• Phlebotomy skills and general knowledge of point of care laboratory equipment desired
• Must demonstrate technical competence
• Capable of using computer software programs
• Must be able to interact professionally and effectively communicate with physicians, staff, patients and public
• Must show sensitivity for the patient and family
• Must be able to follow instructions, work quickly and accurately in a fast-paced environment
