DIAGNOSTIC TECHNICIAN
Job Summary
This position is responsible for the clinical and clerical responsibilities related to quality specimen collection of various types (blood, urine, etc.) to perform diagnostic testing and appropriately get results back to ordering providers, all while delivering an exceptional customer service experience for all lab and imaging patients.
Individual is responsible for providing optimal customer service, assisting with any physical challenges related to patient visit, drawing blood, educating patients on proper specimen collection (for specimens such as urine, stool, etc.), appropriately receiving, labeling, and preparing specimen for transport.
Serve as resource to patients and provider offices, able to answer any questions about testing needed, specimen collection, insurance requirements/medical necessity, and appropriate method for send-out labs.
Individual will appropriately register, identify order issues and trouble-shoot, collecting patient demographics and payments, checking insurance eligibility, and linking orders to ensure accuracy and timeliness of test results to ordering provider.
Qualifications
- Required: High school diploma or equivalent
- PREFERRED: Computer experience
