Role Overview: Radiologic Technologists perform diagnostic, therapeutic, and research-related procedures involving ionizing radiation. They independently execute radiographic and fluoroscopic exams, ensuring patient safety and optimal image quality while adhering to ALARA principles. Key Responsibilities Obtain correct orders, identify and prepare patients, and document clinical histories while maintaining confidentiality.Apply appropriate imaging protocols, adjust technical factors, and evaluate images for quality.Prepare and administer medications via vascular access as prescribed.Assist licensed practitioners with fluoroscopic and specialized procedures, including outside the Radiology Department.Educate and monitor students and healthcare providers.Ensure data transfer, archival, and post-processing of images are properly managed. Qualifications & Skills Graduate from a Specialty Training Program in Radiologic Technology.New graduates must obtain ARRT-R registry within six months.Applicants hired after a specified date need to complete steps for advancing to level 2 within 24 months. Work Environment & Expectations: Work is performed primarily in clinical settings, with adherence to policies and procedures. Additional department-specific skills may be required. The role emphasizes safety, patient care, and collaboration.
