About the Role

Spectrum Healthcare Resources (SHR) has a potential full-time opportunity for a Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist at the Toms River CBOC for the Veterans Affairs in Toms River, New Jersey. This position offers 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with freedom from malpractice insurance worries.

The role involves performing a variety of diagnostic imaging procedures, including:

  • General Radiography (X-ray, fluoroscopy, DEXA)
  • Computer Tomography (CT)
  • Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)
  • Mammography (M)
  • Sonography/Ultrasound (including small parts, abdomen, breast, OB/GYN, vascular)
  • Echocardiography (Echo)

Responsibilities

The Diagnostic Imaging Technician will perform diagnostic imaging procedures in accordance with established protocols and certifications. Responsibilities include operating imaging equipment, ensuring patient safety, and maintaining accurate records.

Requirements

  • Must be Board certified by the ABR or AOBR.
  • A minimum of 2 years of full-time experience within the last 3 years.
  • Provide verifiable evidence of all education, training, and level of experience.
  • Active state license.
  • Current BLS and ACLS life support certifications.

Qualifications

  • Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist (DRTs) must be certified in general radiologic technology (R) by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • DRTs providing specialty coverage must have advanced certification from the ARRT in one or more of the following: Computed Tomography (CT), Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Mammography (M), Vascular Interventional Radiography (IR), or Cardiac Interventional Radiography (CIR).
  • Nuclear Medicine Technologists must be certified in Nuclear Medicine Technology by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) or by the ARRT (RT (N)). Those working in PET/CT must also be certified in Computed Tomography (CT).
  • Sonographers must hold an RDMS certificate (Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer) from the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (in abdomen, breast, and/or obstetrics & gynecology).
  • Vascular Sonographers must hold an RVT certificate (Registered Vascular Technologist) from the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers.
  • Cardiac Catheterization Technologists must have at least 3 years of experience in Interventional Radiology or Cardiac Catheterization and/or hold a Cardiac Interventional Radiography Certificate (CIR) or Vascular Interventional Radiography Certificate (VIR) from the ARRT.
