Responsibilities
- Perform general diagnostic radiography, fluoroscopy, portable radiography, portable fluoroscopy, and operating room imaging
- Prepare and administer contrast materials under radiologist direction (e.g., GI studies, venograms, cystograms, arthrography)
- Accurately operate imaging equipment to obtain diagnostic-quality images while minimizing radiation exposure
- Record radiation dose data for fluoroscopy and portable fluoroscopy exams
- Review, validate, and process radiology orders in CPRS/VistA
- Register, complete, cancel, and edit imaging exams in VA systems
- Perform imaging studies according to urgency (STAT, urgent, routine, pre-op)
- Maintain accurate electronic medical records and ensure images are properly uploaded to PACS
- Follow infection control, sterile technique, radiation safety, and VA safety policies
- Assist radiologists/physicians during procedures and anticipate procedural needs
- Identify patients correctly and ensure proper image labeling and documentation
- Monitor equipment functionality and report malfunctions
- Adjust exam techniques based on patient condition, body habitus, and clinical need
Qualifications
- Current ARRT certification (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists)
- Minimum 2 years of Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist experience
- Maintain an active AHA BLS Certification

- Sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach above shoulders during the work shift
- Lift up to 50 lbs from floor to waist
- Lift up to 20 lbs
- Carry up to 40 lbs a reasonable distance
- Push/pull with 30 lbs of force
