Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (Part Time)

About the role

Sentara BelleHarbour, located in Suffolk, Virginia, is hiring a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer for a part-time, evening (2nd) shift position.

Performs diagnostic ultrasound procedures in an ambulatory setting, requiring independent judgment under the direction of a qualified physician. Proficient in preliminary structural reporting. Conducts general diagnostic ultrasound imaging studies, including:

• Scanning patients to demonstrate correct anatomy/pathology
• Operating sonography equipment and electronic radiology systems
• Preparing patient rooms, equipment, and medications
• Maintaining adequate supply inventory
• Explaining examinations and procedures to patients
• Completing departmental documentation
• Using and logging infection control equipment

Schedule

• Part-time, evening (2nd) shift
• Monday - Friday: 4:30 PM - 9:30 PM
• No weekends

Requirements

• Degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography, related field, or completion of a training program acceptable to the ARRT or ARDMS registry board (Required)
• ARDMS or ARRT certification (Required)
• BLS certification
