Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (Part Time)
About the role
Sentara BelleHarbour, located in Suffolk, Virginia, is hiring a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer for a part-time, evening (2nd) shift position.
Performs diagnostic ultrasound procedures in an ambulatory setting, requiring independent judgment under the direction of a qualified physician. Proficient in preliminary structural reporting. Conducts general diagnostic ultrasound imaging studies, including:
- Scanning patients to demonstrate correct anatomy/pathology
- Operating sonography equipment and electronic radiology systems
- Preparing patient rooms, equipment, and medications
- Maintaining adequate supply inventory
- Explaining examinations and procedures to patients
- Completing departmental documentation
- Using and logging infection control equipment
Schedule
- Part-time, evening (2nd) shift
- Monday - Friday: 4:30 PM - 9:30 PM
- No weekends
Requirements
- Degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography, related field, or completion of a training program acceptable to the ARRT or ARDMS registry board (Required)
- ARDMS or ARRT certification (Required)
- BLS certification

The Advanced Imaging Center at BelleHarbour is conveniently located on the campus of Sentara BelleHarbour in Western Tidewater. The center features:
