Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic sonographic imaging through the application of non-ionizing, high-frequency sound waves for patients of all ages.
- Perform ultrasound studies (i.e. obstetrical, GYN, abdominal, retro peritoneal, small parts, pediatric, and vascular).
- Consult with referring physicians regarding patients' medical history and selection of appropriate procedures and equipment required for proper diagnosis.
- Review charts, previous reports and requisition prior to the exam.
- Educate patients regarding procedures, equipment and exams to ensure understanding and cooperation.
- Absorb, archive, transmit and print images via PACS.
- Complete after hours transmission of images and appropriate paperwork.
- Immediately report any malfunctions to help desk and PACS Administrator.
- Process billing via RIS.
- Maintain the most up to date knowledge in the field through self-motivated education and attendance of appropriate conferences and symposiums.
- Ensure proper function of ultrasound equipment and notify clinical engineering of any equipment malfunctions.
- Adequately supply exam rooms with linen and related medical supplies.
- Aid in clinical instruction of ultrasound students and residents and in-service education of caregivers.
- Aid in orienting new caregivers to the equipment, department procedures and scanning protocols.
- Demonstrate ultrasound equipment for caregivers and visitors.
- Potentially rotate through all diagnostic imaging modalities, sites and/or locations.
- Assist in new investigative techniques, procedures and equipment.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school in Diagnostic Medical Sonography and in good standing.
- Registered Diagnostic Sonographer (RDMS) through the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) RT(S) or RT(VS) upon hire.
- One certification within abdominal (RDMS, AB), OB/GYN (RDMS, OB/GYN) or vascular (RVT, VT) through the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) upon hire.
Qualifications
- Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
- One year experience as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer.
- Physical Requirements: Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time. Must be able to lift or assist with lifting patients of varying weight and manipulate equipment daily.

Pay
Pay Range Minimum hourly: $35.25 Maximum hourly: $53.00

This opportunity provides hands-on learning and the ability to enhance your skills each day at an elite healthcare organization. A caregiver in this position works evenings from 2:00PM – 10:30PM.
