Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic, maintenance, and repair of heavy equipment such as haul trucks, water trucks, rubber tire and track dozers, front-end loaders, and motor graders.
- Remove, repair, and install transmissions, engines, brakes, differentials, pumps, motors, torque converters, final drives, and other heavy equipment systems or components.
- Maintain mechanical and lubrication preventative maintenance on machine systems including hydraulic, power train, and engines.
- Prioritize and make decisions regarding equipment repair as needed.
- Maintain work orders and perform work area inspections.
- Operate mobile equipment such as overhead cranes, forklifts, and boom trucks.
- Perform welding tasks including carbon arc, plasma, mig, tig, and stick welding.
- Assume responsibilities as a fill-in supervisor as required.
- Train and mentor other employees.
- Perform other duties as required.
Requirements
- Two (2) years’ experience in mechanical/maintenance crafts (including welder, boilermaker, machinist or facility maintenance/construction).
- A combination of education and experience in industrial mechanical repair and maintenance.
- Must have completed academic and practical competencies required (this includes Line of Progression requirements for internal employees where LOP Exists) and have experience demonstrating the required mechanical aptitude.
- HEM Diagnostic Mechanic I: Practical Skills Assessments defined in LOP.
- Ability to understand and apply verbal and written work and safety-related instructions and procedures in English.
- Communicate in English with respect to job assignments, job procedures, and applicable safety standards.
- Possess excellent decision-making skills and ability to troubleshoot machine systems.
- Work and effectively communicate with others.
- Read and use blueprints.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.

What We Offer You
- The estimated pay range for this role is currently $28.50-$38.50/hour.
- This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions.
- Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors.
- This role is eligible for additional discretionary and incentive payment considerations based on company and individual performance.
