Diesel Diagnostic Mechanic I
About the role
Highly skilled employees in the mechanical maintenance craft who applies a broad level of process and mechanical/maintenance knowledge to maximize and, where possible, improve the efficiency of the overall production process. Among these workers are machinists, heavy machinery mechanics, skilled automotive technicians, certified welders, pump rebuild mechanics and specialized maintenance mechanic personnel.
Responsibilities
- Work autonomously under required supervision where the primary objective is safe production.
- Perform routine and non-routine maintenance activities.
- Complete Work Orders and other maintenance documentation.
- Repair, install, fabricate, rebuild, and perform preventative maintenance of process equipment such as pumps, conveyors, dryers, gearboxes, filters, etc.
- Capable of performing equipment lubrication.
- Competent in mechanics, hydraulics, pneumatics, pumps, bearings, conveyor systems, plumbing, alignment, machine shop, and mobile equipment.
- Qualified to operate small and large cranes and knowledgeable of safe rigging practices.
- Follows and understands MSHA and/or OSHA rules and regulations, Environmental rules and regulations, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and work area instructions, participates in safety and environmental activities, uses plant and equipment correctly at all times.
Requirements
- Two (2) years’ experience in mechanical/maintenance crafts (including welder, boilermaker, machinist or facility maintenance/construction) or a combination of education and experience in industrial mechanical repair and maintenance.
- Must have completed academic and practical competencies required (this includes Line of Progression requirements for internal employees where LOP Exists) and have experience demonstrating the required mechanical aptitude.
- FPM Diagnostic Mechanic I: The selected candidate shall demonstrate the ability to apply knowledge and technical skills while achieving 35% score on a written assessment where required. This exam is based on technical skills/abilities and/or academic knowledge; as well as safety.
- HEM Diagnostic Mechanic I: Practical Skills Assessments defined in LOP.
- Shovel/Drill Diagnostic Mechanic I: Practical Skills Assessments defined in LOP.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
What We Offer You
The estimated pay range for this role is currently $28.00 - $38.00/hour. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors. This role is eligible for additional discretionary and incentive payment considerations based on company and individual performance. More details will be shared during the hiring process.
