Diabetic Educator CL III 10P - Diabetic Center - PRN - 1st Shift
About the role
The Diabetes Educator identifies patient needs and priorities for education based on assessment. The patient population includes individuals from small children to the elderly. The educator plans, implements, and evaluates all programs and services administered by the Diabetes Control Center. The educator coordinates educational care between other professional disciplines as needed.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university preferred.
- License, Certification, and/or Registration:
- Require dietetic registration and licensure or nursing licensure within provisional period.
- Must be working toward CDCES certification in diabetes education within provisional period.
- Must be a Certified Diabetes Educator within 2 years of hire.
- Experience: 2 years of experience in the field of diabetes care and education is preferred.
- Additional Skills/Abilities:
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to communicate with people from diverse socioeconomic backgrounds.
