About the role
A Diabetes Care and Education Specialist RN is a registered nurse with specialized knowledge and expertise in diabetes management and patient education. The role focuses on providing individualized care and support to patients with diabetes to help them effectively manage their condition.
Responsibilities
- Provide individualized care and support to patients with diabetes to help them effectively manage their condition.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to develop and implement patient education programs.
- Conduct individual and group diabetes education sessions.
- Assess patient needs and provide appropriate resources and referrals.
- Monitor patient progress and adjust care plans as necessary.
- Participate in community events and outreach programs related to diabetes education.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) (Required)
- RN License (Required)
- CDCES Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (Required)
- 2 years of experience working with diabetic patients (Required)
Qualifications
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Knowledge of diabetes pathophysiology, pharmacology, and nutrition.
- Experience with diabetes self-management education and training.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Pay
Salary range: $60,000 - $70,000 annually.
Schedule
Full Time Day Shift - 8 hours a day. Occasional weekends for community events as needed.
