Diabetes Care Advisor - Concierge/Non-Clinical - Onsite/Hybrid

About the role

Edwards Health Care Services (EHCS), a division of GEMCORE, is a well-established and growing national direct-to-home medical supply provider. We are seeking a highly motivated Diabetes Care Advisor to join our high-energy team. The Diabetes Care Advisor’s primary role is to serve as the main point of contact for each patient and coordinate their healthcare professional, insurance benefits, insulin pump, and continuous glucose (CGM) orders with physician offices and insurers, ensuring excellent customer service throughout the entire process.

This is a hybrid remote position based in Round Rock, TX.

Responsibilities

• Treat both new and existing customers like family.
• Cultivate new leads through prospecting physicians, diabetes educators, hospitals, clinics, manufacturer representatives, and community partners.
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with each patient, physician, and/or educator through direct communication throughout the insulin pump and CGM order process.
• Formulate new relationships with manufacturers, vendors, payers, doctors, and patients concurrent with business development.
• Process daily, weekly, and monthly status reports per “tracker guidelines” for manufacturer and management review.
• Exercise discretion and judgment in obtaining prior authorization, pre-certification, pre-determination, and Certificates of Medical Necessity per insurance requirements to determine shipment and billing.

Requirements

• Excellent telephone and communication skills with a desire to interact with patients, insurance companies, manufacturer reps, and physician offices.
• Insurance background and/or medical experience; knowledge of deductibles and co-payments is a plus.
• Minimum of 1-2 years’ experience in a consumer service organization or healthcare environment.
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Minimal travel required.

Schedule

Full-time, non-exempt position. Schedule is 8:15 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday.
