DFW Airport shuttle-bus Safety Trainer responsible for building and sustaining a safety-first culture in afternoon, evening, overnight, and weekend operations.

Responsibilities

  • Align all employees with the company’s mission, values, and safety practices.
  • Deliver classroom and behind-the-wheel training for new hires, emphasizing job responsibilities and safety protocols.
  • Evaluate new hires’ road readiness using criteria set by the Safety Manager.
  • Plan and conduct monthly safety meetings for shuttle operations staff.
  • Perform routine driver evaluations focused on performance and adherence to safety standards.
  • Provide actionable feedback and recommendations to the Safety Manager based on field observations.
  • Maintain accurate documentation to meet regulatory standards.
  • Support DOT compliance efforts and assist in preparing and updating driver DOT files.
  • Identify, report, and mitigate potential safety risks or hazards encountered during field operations.
  • Contribute to the refinement of safety policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate on the development and enhancement of the DFW safety training program.
  • Assist in creating and implementing safety incentive programs.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Safety Manager or Shuttle Operations leadership.

Requirements

  • Valid CDL license with air brake and passenger endorsements.
  • Minimum of three years in commercial transportation.
  • Minimum of two years in a supervisory role within commercial transportation.
  • Familiarity with DOT rules and regulations and ADA regulations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Five years in commercial transportation.
  • Three years in a supervisory role within commercial transportation.
  • Experience in shuttle operations and in an airport environment.
  • Familiarity with telematics systems.

Physical Demands

  • Willingness to work in various weather conditions (heat, wind, snow, rain).
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull at least 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and run for extended periods.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, squat, and lift frequently throughout a shift.
