DevSecOps Engineer / Cloud Administrator (AWS)
About the role
TechFlow is seeking an experienced DevSecOps Engineer / Cloud Administrator (AWS) to support a mission-critical DoD software development and modernization program in Montgomery, AL.
Responsibilities
Design, implement, maintain, and continuously improve fully automated CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins, or other Government-approved tools
Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Ansible or equivalent technologies to automate provisioning, configuration, and management of AWS cloud environments
Administer and support all Cloud One (AWS) environments, ensuring system availability, performance, security, and compliance
Integrate automated security capabilities into the software development lifecycle, including Static Application Security Testing (SAST), Dynamic Application Security Testing (DAST), Open Source Analysis (OSA), container security scanning, and related DevSecOps tools
Generate, maintain, and remediate Software Bill of Materials (SBOM) findings in accordance with program security and compliance requirements
Manage containerized application deployments using Docker and container orchestration technologies
Implement secure secrets management, credential protection, and automated backup and disaster recovery processes for DevSecOps infrastructure and tooling
Support production software releases by developing installation plans, infrastructure deployment packages, data migration scripts, STIG documentation, and Infrastructure as Code artifacts
Maintain deployment artifacts within the program's binary repository and support high deployment success rates through automation and continuous improvement
Monitor cloud infrastructure, troubleshoot deployment and operational issues, and rapidly resolve production incidents
Collaborate with software development teams to improve build automation, release processes, infrastructure scalability, and application reliability
Ensure compliance with DoD cybersecurity requirements, configuration management standards, and secure cloud operating practices
Requirements
Candidates must have the ability to report to the customer's location in Montgomery, AL within two (2) hours of notification. Primary residence must be within 60 miles of Montgomery, AL.
Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or related field.
Minimum 5 years of experience in DevSecOps engineering and AWS cloud administration.
Hands-on experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins, or similar automation platforms.
Proficiency with AWS cloud services and administration of cloud-based production environments.
Experience with Docker, containerization technologies, and container orchestration platforms.
Experience integrating security tools such as SAST, DAST, Open Source Analysis (OSA), container scanning, and SBOM management into CI/CD pipelines.
Experience implementing secure configuration management, secrets management, and automated deployment processes.
Familiarity with DoD cybersecurity requirements, Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs), and secure cloud environments.
Strong troubleshooting, automation, scripting, and systems engineering skills.
Active Secret Security Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
AWS Certification, such as: AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified SysOps Administrator or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer.
Experience supporting Air Force Cloud One environments.
Experience supporting DoD software modernization programs.
Familiarity with Kubernetes or other container orchestration platforms.
Experience with Terraform or additional Infrastructure as Code tools.
Knowledge of RMF accreditation processes and DevSecOps best practices.
Experience with monitoring, logging, and observability platforms such as CloudWatch, ELK, Grafana, or Prometheus.
Experience supporting high-availability cloud architectures and disaster recovery planning.
