Job Summary
Torch Technologies is seeking an experienced DevSecOps Engineer to architect, automate, and optimize secure infrastructure across on-prem and cloud environments. This role involves driving CI/CD pipeline automation, integrating continuous security practices, and managing scalable Kubernetes workloads.
Responsibilities
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Architect and build automated infrastructure deployments and updates using modern configuration management and provisioning tools.
- Pipeline Engineering: Design, implement, and maintain advanced CI/CD pipelines that seamlessly integrate build, test, and security scanning processes.
- Continuous Security: Integrate continuous security and compliance checks into pipelines, managing hardened containers and automating security compliance.
- Container Orchestration: Manage, scale, and optimize containerized workloads and clusters using Kubernetes and the Big Bang ecosystem.
- Observability & Reliability: Engineer comprehensive monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions to proactively maintain application health and system reliability.
- Operational Support: Share on-call responsibilities with the engineering team to assist troubleshooting system anomalies and resolving performance bottlenecks.
Qualifications
- US Citizenship
- B.S. degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical discipline (or equivalent relevant experience)
- 5 years of relevant experience in DevSecOps, Cloud Engineering, or Systems Architecture
- CompTIA Security+ or equivalent DoD 8570/8140 IAT Level II certification
- Proven experience with modern CI/CD ecosystems (Gitlab CI, Github Actions, etc.)
- Hands-on expertise managing Kubernetes environments (K8s, EKS, RKE2) and utilizing orchestration/provisioning tools like Helm, Ansible, and Terraform
- Proven expertise in configuring, managing, and optimizing enterprise Linux environments (RHEL, Rocky, Ubuntu)
- Strong scripting capabilities (Python, Bash, or Go) for automation, tool integration, and system administration
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance
Preferred Tools and Technologies
- DoW Software Factories: Experience with Big Bang, Platform One, and Iron Bank
- Ci/CD Infrastructure: Administration, configuration, and scaling of GitLab Runners
- Container Security: Hands-on experience utilizing rootless Podman for secure container management
- Infrastructure & Configuration: Advanced deployment experience using Helm, Ansible, and Terraform
- Observability Stacks: Hands-on experience with Prometheus, Grafana, and/or the ELK/EFK stack
