DevSecOps Engineer

About the role
E&M Technologies, Inc. is seeking a DevSecOps Engineer to join our team in support of the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD). NORAD is a United States and Canada bi-national organization charged with aerospace warning, aerospace control, and maritime warning for North America. Aerospace warning includes the detection, validation, and warning of attack against North America whether by aircraft, missiles, or space vehicles.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with software development teams and platform engineers to enable software developers to continuously deliver value, while exceeding customer needs for stability and security of mission-critical services and environments.
- Automate application containerization via CI/CD pipelines and orchestrate containers in a Kubernetes environment.
- Improve the development workflow, developer quality of life, and overall security and stability of Kubernetes clusters.
- Develop and integrate full-stack applications with familiarity in containerization technology.
- Implement DevSecOps practices in containerized and/or cloud platforms.
- Secure Kubernetes environments, including provisioning and application deployment/scaling.
- Create multistage CI/CD pipelines to automate aspects of the software development lifecycle using tools such as Atlassian Bamboo.
Requirements
- Must have or obtain within 60 days of start date an IAT Level II Certification (Security+ CE or equivalent).
- Minimum of 3 years of directly related experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of general work experience.
- Deep understanding of Kubernetes, including provisioning and application deployment/scaling.
- Experience securing a Kubernetes environment.
- Understanding of application containerization (Docker).
- Experience with shell scripting (such as bash).
- Experience creating multistage CI/CD pipelines to automate the software development lifecycle.
- Understanding of microservice architecture.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
Preferred Qualifications
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Strong written communication and technical writing skills.
- BS degree in a STEM-related discipline.
- Experience developing, integrating, and maintaining full-stack applications.
- Experience developing application front-ends using React or other JavaScript-based web frameworks.
- Experience with JavaScript/TypeScript/React project management tools, such as npm or yarn.
- Experience creating, maintaining, and troubleshooting CI/CD within a DevSecOps pipeline.
- Experience utilizing Static Code Analysis (SCA) tools and adjudicating vulnerabilities.
- Experience using JPA for object persistence.
- Experience working with Apache Kafka and RabbitMQ.
- Experience migrating monolithic applications to a microservices architecture.
- Experience working on CCIC2S applications.
