DevOps/Software Integration Engineer

About the role

The Software Integration Engineer will develop software tools and services in a Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) Linux environment supporting an 'on-prem' cloud offering with open-source software using Kubernetes, Docker, Rook, and other cutting-edge software. Expertise and enthusiasm for working in a containerized landlord/tenant environment are essential.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain software tools and services in a PaaS Linux environment
• Support the development of tools and services that enhance the efficiency of software deployment within a DevOps culture
• Work in a containerized landlord/tenant environment
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of tools and services

Requirements

• TS/SCI clearance with polygraph
• Experience with Linux Command Line Interface (CLI)
• Experience writing scripts using Bash and Python
• General technical knowledge about compute, network, memory, and storage systems
• In-depth experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles and automation tools like SaltStack, Puppet, and Ansible
• Proven ability to troubleshoot large Linux clusters
• Experience with system monitoring tools such as Prometheus and Grafana
• Expertise with containerization technologies including Docker
• Proven experience administering and monitoring Kubernetes clusters
• Experience with the Atlassian tool suite (JIRA, Confluence)
• Experience using Git for version control

Desired Skills

• Experience using Helm to deploy Kubernetes applications
• Experience with GitLab CI/CD pipelines
• Familiarity with Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles and practices
