About the role

As an Onsite DevOps Engineer, you will work with Operations & Maintenance (O&M) and Development teams to securely maintain and deploy updates to an existing web-based knowledge repository built on AWS Cloud and OpenShift technologies across all client domains. You will collaborate closely with engineers, product managers, designers, and clients to deliver valuable, secure, high-quality software solutions efficiently. This role supports a project that provides Geospatial Intelligence (GEOINT) and related services to internal and external customers, involving engineering, technical assessment, development, and integration of COTS, GOTS, open-source, and other mission-critical technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and resolve system/operational incidents
  • Perform root cause analysis for operational incidents
  • Analyze system performance and take corrective actions as needed
  • Assist Tier 2 support with resolving complex system and end-user problems
  • Manage, configure, and automate OpenShift environments to support scalable application development and deployment
  • Network and coordinate with mission partners, applications, and external entities to troubleshoot incidents and integration issues
  • Collaborate with development teams to integrate and deploy applications within the OpenShift environment
  • Implement and maintain continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines
  • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high availability of the OpenShift platform
  • Optimize and scale OpenShift clusters to enhance performance and efficiency
  • Develop and maintain documentation related to system configurations and processes
  • Coordinate system security efforts and monitor system health
  • Report and resolve hardware and software issues
  • Provide occasional after-hours and/or weekend support for operational issue resolution and maintenance windows
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience in DevOps, with a focus on OpenShift or another container orchestration platform
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or a related technical field (preferred)
  • Active TS/SCI clearance and willingness to submit to a government CI polygraph
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Self-starter with the ability to work in a team environment and independently
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Knowledge of application deployment and data migration on AWS and OpenShift
  • Ability to design and operate high-availability applications across availability zones and regions
  • Comprehension of computer technology and ability to quickly learn new software products
  • Experience serving in an “on-call” role supporting emergency response to application or system issues

Desired Skills

  • Security+ Certification
  • OpenShift certification or similar certification
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
  • Experience configuring and deploying containerized applications on OpenShift using Kubernetes best practices
  • Familiarity with implementing GitOps workflows for automated, declarative deployments
  • Strong working knowledge of Linux system administration in support of containerized environments
  • Knowledge of monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK stack
  • Deep understanding of Agile, DevOps, and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Experience delivering solutions to a Government customer

Pay

$140,000 - $165,000
