DevOps Engineer (Senior) - $125K

About the role

RCT is looking for a solid DevOps candidate who will work primarily as a software engineer, building infrastructure-as-code solutions that require both a Software Engineering and Systems Administrator skillset.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain AWS resources using CloudFormation and interact with them via AWS SDKs (Ruby, Python, Java, NodeJS).
• Develop and maintain Jenkins Pipelines using Groovy for continuous integration and deployment.
• Build and maintain Docker containers and understand Docker orchestration tools such as ECS or Docker Compose.
• Support development teams in utilizing AWS correctly.
• Assist with software installations using Puppet.
• Collaborate across teams with varying skill levels to provide DevOps support.

Requirements

• 5 or more years of AWS experience, including CloudFormation and AWS SDKs (Ruby, Python, Java).
• 5 or more years of Object-Oriented Programming experience (Ruby, Python, Java, or NodeJS).
• Experience with Jenkins and creating Jenkins Pipelines, with an understanding of CI/CD best practices.
• 1 to 2 years of experience with Docker and container orchestration (Docker Compose, ECS).
• 5 years of Bash shell scripting experience.
• 2 years of experience with GitHub and branching strategies.
• Strong team player with the ability to teach and learn as needed.

Optional Skills

• Experience with AWS CDK.
