Everyone is trying to “harness the cloud,” but not everyone knows how. As a DevOps Engineer, you’re eager to develop, manage, and secure a container platform that meets your client’s needs and takes advantage of cloud capabilities. We need you to develop container management software to solve some of our clients’ toughest challenges. On our team, you’ll hone your skills using the latest cloud technologies as you look for ways to improve your client’s environment with current container software to ensure seamless orchestration. Using your DevOps platform experience, you’ll support your team as you inform strategy and design while ensuring standards are met throughout the containerization process. You’ll recommend resources that will help your client manage and securely adopt containers. Additionally, you’ll continue to strengthen your DevOps skills while supporting the development of critical cloud platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, manage, and secure container platforms to meet client needs and leverage cloud capabilities
  • Develop container management software to address client challenges
  • Improve client environments using current container software for seamless orchestration
  • Inform strategy and design while ensuring standards are met throughout the containerization process
  • Recommend resources to help clients manage and securely adopt containers
  • Support the development of critical cloud platforms

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience with AWS Cloud building and supporting DevOps tools and continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines
  • 4+ years of experience with containerization, building images, and orchestrating deployments in Kubernetes
  • 3+ years of experience with infrastructure-as-code environments, including automated server or network configurations, large-scale software deployments, or monitoring and testing
  • 3+ years of experience managing tools deployed with Helm, and with automation tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef
  • 2+ years of experience developing custom applications and supporting them in a production environment
  • Knowledge of container networking, monitoring, and storage solutions
  • Knowledge of container security technologies and evaluating and mitigating or resolving vulnerability findings
  • TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Ability to obtain a Security+ CE, SSCP, CCNA-Security, or GSEC Certification within 6 months of hire date

Skills

  • Experience with identifying and implementing automation to improve user experience (Nice to Have)
  • Experience with scripting in Bash, PowerShell, Python, Groovy, or Ruby (Nice to Have)
  • Experience with system integration using a variety of protocols, including JSON, REST, and XML (Nice to Have)
  • Experience with leveraging JSON, YAML, or XML for configuration (Nice to Have)
  • Experience with the OWASP Software Assurance Maturity Model or DevSecOps Maturity Model (Nice to Have)
  • Cloud Certification, including AWS, Certified Solutions Architect Associate Certification, Google Certified Professional – Cloud Architect, or MCSE – Cloud Platform and Infrastructure Certification (Nice to Have)

Full-time and part-time employees working at least 20 hours a week on a regular basis are eligible to participate in Booz Allen’s benefit programs. Individuals that do not meet the threshold are only eligible for select offerings, not inclusive of health benefits.

Pay

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $62,000.00 to $141,000.00 (annualized USD).

Work model options include:

  • Remote: Generally remote, with occasional in-person work at a Booz Allen or customer facility.
  • Hybrid: Frequent work from a Booz Allen facility, with potential visits to customer facilities as needed.
  • Onsite: Work primarily performed at a Booz Allen office or customer facility, collaborating directly with colleagues and customers.

Employees working virtually are generally expected to have their cameras on during meetings to support engagement and effective communication.
