DevOps Engineer II

About The Role

We are seeking a skilled and proactive DevOps Engineer II to join our FOLIO Operations team, which is responsible for supporting large-scale, cloud-based library platforms. The ideal candidate will have a passion for building resilient, scalable infrastructure, automating operational workflows, and ensuring high system availability within a multi-tenant SaaS environment. In this role, you will be instrumental in maintaining and enhancing our cloud-native library management system, FOLIO, which is built on microservices architecture to support modern library functions such as circulation, acquisitions, cataloging, and electronic resource management. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to support and optimize the infrastructure, troubleshoot issues, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, including leveraging AI and automation techniques to streamline operations. Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship and willingness to obtain a government security clearance
• Minimum of 2+ years of experience in AWS operations and support, including ECS, S3, PostgreSQL, Lambda, and automation development
• Strong proficiency with Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and Jenkins
• Solid programming skills in Java, Groovy, and scripting languages
• Experience working with microservices and serverless architectures
• Familiarity with Atlassian tools such as JIRA and JSM
• Excellent communication, analytical, and troubleshooting skills
• Proven ability to support multiple products simultaneously (preferably 2-3 systems)
• Customer-focused mindset with proactive problem-solving skills
• Willingness to work during standard US Eastern business hours (8-5)

Responsibilities

• Support and maintain highly scalable production systems across multiple products, including FOLIO, LOCATE, and MetaDB
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve production incidents to ensure system reliability and performance
• Develop and enhance automation workflows using Java, Groovy, and scripting to streamline operations
• Manage and optimize cloud infrastructure utilizing AWS services such as CloudFormation, ECS, S3, PostgreSQL, Route53, CloudFront, Load Balancers, and Lambda
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows, primarily using Jenkins
• Participate in on-call rotations to ensure continuous availability and incident response readiness
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support customer environments at scale and ensure seamless service delivery
• Assist in managing API gateway and authentication layers, including Kong and Keycloak
• Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency through AI and automation techniques
