About the Role

The Infra and DevOps Cloud Architect is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing secure, scalable cloud infrastructure and DevOps environments for enterprise clients. This role provides technical leadership across cloud architecture, infrastructure automation, DevOps practices, and cloud migration initiatives while mentoring engineering teams and delivering high-quality cloud solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Cloud Architecture: Design and implement scalable cloud infrastructure solutions using Amazon Web Services (AWS). Develop cloud architectures aligned with client business and technical requirements. Recommend cloud best practices for performance, scalability, security, and reliability. Evaluate existing infrastructure and develop cloud modernization strategies. Support enterprise cloud transformation initiatives.
  • DevOps Engineering: Design, implement, and maintain enterprise DevOps environments. Develop CI/CD pipelines that automate application deployment and infrastructure provisioning. Implement infrastructure automation using Infrastructure as Code (IaC). Improve software delivery through DevOps best practices. Monitor and optimize DevOps workflows for efficiency and reliability.
  • Infrastructure Automation: Develop automation scripts using Python, Bash, Ansible, or similar technologies. Implement Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and CloudFormation. Standardize infrastructure deployment across multiple environments. Automate provisioning, configuration, and operational processes. Continuously improve deployment automation and operational efficiency.
  • Cloud Operations: Deploy, configure, monitor, and maintain cloud platform services. Manage cloud infrastructure upgrades, migrations, and system enhancements. Ensure cloud environments remain secure, available, and highly performant. Support backup, patch management, vulnerability management, and disaster recovery activities. Optimize cloud resource utilization and operational performance.
  • Containerization & Platform Management: Deploy and manage containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes. Support cloud-native platforms such as Amazon EKS, ECS, and AWS Fargate. Manage container orchestration and platform scalability. Implement platform monitoring and operational best practices. Support modern application deployment architectures.
  • Security & Compliance: Implement secure cloud infrastructure following organizational standards. Collaborate with security teams to strengthen cloud security posture. Apply identity, access management, and networking best practices. Support compliance with organizational and client security requirements. Maintain secure infrastructure configurations across cloud environments.
  • Technical Leadership: Lead cloud architecture and infrastructure projects from planning through implementation. Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance. Collaborate with clients, architects, and cross-functional engineering teams. Communicate technical solutions to both technical and business stakeholders. Promote engineering best practices and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • Seven or more years of experience with AWS, DevOps, cloud infrastructure, and platform engineering.
  • Strong hands-on experience with AWS services and cloud architecture.
  • Experience using Terraform and Infrastructure as Code methodologies.
  • Proficiency with automation scripting using Python, Bash, or Ansible.
  • Experience designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines.
  • Strong understanding of cloud networking, infrastructure, and security.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced consulting environment.

Preferred

  • Experience with AWS Lambda, Node.js, Python, or Go.
  • Experience with AWS services including VPC, EC2, S3, EBS, EFS, ELB, and IAM.
  • Experience administering Linux or Windows Server environments.
  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, Amazon EKS, ECS, or AWS Fargate.
  • Experience with CloudFormation, Chef, or Ansible.
  • AWS Associate or Professional Certification.
  • HashiCorp Terraform Certification.
  • Red Hat Linux System Administration Certification.
  • Experience with cloud operations, server hardening, vulnerability management, and patch management.
