About the role
Lead enterprise database environments, specifically MySQL, into the AWS Cloud. Administer MySQL clusters, including installation, configuration, maintenance, replication, backup/recovery, and performance tuning. Ensure security, availability, reliability, and scalability of mission-critical PostgreSQL and MySQL databases. Drive database architecture, capacity planning, high availability design, and disaster recovery strategies. Collaborate with stakeholders, application teams, and infrastructure engineers to streamline deployments and improve database reliability. Oversee and lead migration projects, including lift-and-shift, modernization, and re-platforming efforts to AWS cloud environments.
Requirements
- Experience with MySQL and PostgreSQL administration across on-premises and AWS cloud environments.
- In-depth knowledge of database installation, configuration, optimization, clustering, replication, backup/recovery, and maintenance.
- Proven ability to manage these environments across platforms like VMware, AWS EC2, Amazon RDS, and Amazon Aurora.
- Strong experience with MySQL Cluster, replication technologies, failover configurations, and high-availability architectures.
- Capability to troubleshoot performance issues, analyze execution plans, optimize SQL queries, and implement tuning strategies.
- Experience implementing database security solutions, including encryption, IAM integration, SSL/TLS, and secure access controls.
