DevOps Cloud Engineer

Everyone is trying to “harness the cloud,” but not everyone knows how. As a DevOps engineer, you’re eager to develop, manage, and secure a container platform that meets your client’s needs and takes advantage of cloud capabilities. We need you to develop container management software to solve some of our clients’ toughest challenges. On our team, you’ll hone your skills using the latest cloud technologies as you look for ways to improve your client’s environment with current container software to ensure seamless orchestration. Using your DevOps platform experience, you’ll support your team as you inform strategy and design while ensuring standards are met throughout the containerization process. You’ll recommend resources that will help your client manage and securely adopt containers. Additionally, you’ll continue to strengthen your DevOps skills while supporting the development of critical cloud platforms.

Responsibilities

• Develop, manage, and secure a container platform to meet client needs and leverage cloud capabilities
• Develop container management software to address complex client challenges
• Improve client environments using current container software for seamless orchestration
• Inform strategy and design while ensuring standards are met throughout the containerization process
• Recommend resources to help clients manage and securely adopt containers
• Support the development of critical cloud platforms while strengthening DevOps skills
• Troubleshoot, triage, and resolve issues related to CI/CD pipeline failures or slowness
• Collaborate with application development teams across the software development lifecycle

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in developing tools and processes to drive DevOps or DevSecOps maturity by automating builds, regression testing, monitoring, and pushing releases across environments
• 7+ years of experience troubleshooting, triaging, and resolving issues related to CI/CD pipeline failures or slowness
• Experience developing enterprise cloud-native solutions and orchestration
• Experience developing, managing, and securing containers
• Experience working with application development teams across the software development lifecycle
• Secret clearance
• Bachelor's degree in an IT field
• Cloud+, CCSP, SecurityX, CSSLP, or CISSP-ISSAP Certification

Nice to Have

• Experience developing enterprise cloud-native solutions involving Kubernetes, Docker, AWS, Jenkins, or Azure
• Experience creating, improving, and deploying continuous automation across multiple technical stacks through orchestration and infrastructure as code
• Experience with continuous deployment tools built on Kubernetes
• Experience triaging and resolving issues related to both open source and commercial tools in public cloud environments
• Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python or Linux Shell Script
• Top Secret clearance
• Master’s degree in an IT-related field

Pay

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $77,600.00 to $176,000.00 (annualized USD).

Work models include:

• Remote: Primarily remote, with occasional in-person work at a Booz Allen or customer facility.
• Hybrid: Frequent work from a Booz Allen facility, with potential visits to customer facilities as required by the role.
• Onsite: Work primarily performed at a Booz Allen office or customer facility, collaborating directly with colleagues and customers.
