Responsibilities
- Supporting children with disabilities and behavioral challenges through coordination of diagnostic services, referrals, and related interventions.
- Providing technical assistance, job-embedded professional development, and consultation to staff to ensure effective implementation of IEPs and IFSPs.
- Ensuring compliance with Head Start, IDEA, and NCLB requirements while collaborating with school districts, mental health agencies, and families.
- Conducting behavioral assessments and developing intervention plans.
- Modeling behavior management strategies and overseeing compliance with mental health and special education regulations.
- Tracking student progress and working closely with caregivers, classroom staff, and external agencies to create inclusive, developmentally appropriate learning environments.
Qualifications
- Teaching certification in Special Education required.
- 35 years of teaching experience in special education, behavior intervention, or related work.
- Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Behavioral Health, Counseling, or a related field is required.
- Experience in crisis management, deescalation, and intervention strategies.
- Familiarity with Head Start, IDEA Part C, NCLB, and Kentucky Childcare Licensing regulations.
- Willingness to travel, including home visits, trainings, and meetings.
- Ability to meet physical requirements, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Valid driver’s license, automobile liability insurance, and reliable transportation required.
