About the role
The City of Pearland, TX is seeking to hire a full-time Development Services Manager to oversee the general administration of the development review process. This job works independently, under limited supervision, reporting major activities through periodic meetings.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the general administration of the development process for the City of Pearland.
- Leads the daily operations of the Development Services division.
- Provides customer services to both internal and external stakeholders.
- Tracks and coordinates commercial projects that involve multiple departments, jurisdictions, and points of contact.
- Manages the development and administration of the division's budget to include estimating staffing, equipment, and supply needs.
- Reviews, recommends, and facilitates process improvements.
- Ensures accurate payments and daily reconciliations.
- Oversee and facilitates the Development Review Committee and pre-development meetings.
- Serves as internal project manager for complex, commercial development projects.
- Lead and assist with special projects.
- Serves as an ombudsman to the development and business community.
- Prepare agenda items, make public presentations, coordinate with community groups.
Requirements
- Requires a bachelor's degree in planning, public administration, or closely related field.
- Requires three years' development or closely related experience.

Pay
$71,682.31 - $91,394.94 based on experience.
