Development Scientist II

About the role

At Beckman Coulter Diagnostics, one of Danaher’s 15+ operating companies, you will develop methods for production and testing of new products, create new product designs, and establish production procedures and process specifications. This on-site position reports to the Senior Manager - Heme/UA Reagent R&D within the R&D department in Miami, FL.

Responsibilities

• Develop new product designs, production methods, and testing procedures.
• Support new product scale-up, process optimization, technology transfer, and validation activities.
• Ensure testing and documentation support consumable claims for Hematology and Urinalysis instruments/consumables.
• Perform testing, analyze results, and prepare reports in accordance with global and local quality procedures.
• Communicate issues and troubleshoot by collaborating with cross-functional departments as needed.
• Work as part of a multidisciplinary, innovative, and diverse team while adhering to all safety procedures and policies in the laboratory.

Requirements

• Experience working in an FDA / ISO 13485 regulated environment.
• Working knowledge of basic statistical methods, including proficiency in Excel and JMP for data analysis and presentation.
• Experience or knowledge in chemistry, microscopy, basic engineering, and manufacturing of reagents.
• Familiarity with laboratory test equipment such as pH meter, Osmometer, Conductivity Meter, Spectrophotometer, and Beckman Coulter Particle Counter (preferred).
• Able to lift 40 lbs. without assistance.
