About the role

Auburn Advancement and the Samuel Ginn College of Engineering are seeking a Development Programs Coordinator to join a dynamic, relationship-driven team. In this role you will create impactful programs, donor experiences, and fundraising initiatives that advance Auburn University’s mission and future.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, and support development programs, services, fundraising initiatives, and special events.
  • Coordinate logistics such as venue setup, speaker selection, travel arrangements, and vendor or contractual needs to ensure seamless execution and meaningful engagement.
  • Assist with the development and management of fundraising initiatives and donor engagement strategies that support Auburn University’s philanthropic priorities; ensure programs and services operate effectively and within budget.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with donors, prospects, volunteers, and constituents through ongoing communication, stewardship, and personalized engagement.
  • Conduct research and outreach to identify, screen, and recommend individuals, corporations, and foundations with potential to support Auburn University through philanthropy or volunteer involvement.
  • Support the development of marketing and communication materials—brochures, newsletters, website content, presentations, and news releases—to share Auburn’s impact and engagement opportunities.
  • Monitor and may develop program/service budgets and ensure operations remain within specifications.
  • Prepare itineraries and make travel arrangements for those involved in related development programs/services.
  • Create and maintain records of prospects, contacts, and constituents.
  • Provide information to staff, students, and constituents regarding Auburn University Development issues through presentations, inquiry responses, and correspondence.
  • Receive and resolve inquiries and problems.
  • Create and maintain donor relations, solicitation, and development activities.

Qualifications

  • Level I: Bachelor’s degree
  • Level II: Bachelor’s degree plus 2 years of experience or Master’s degree
  • Level III: Bachelor’s degree plus 4 years of experience or Master’s degree plus 2 years of experience

Scope of Experience: Experience in public relations work and general office operations is preferred.
