Development Manager (New Orleans, LA)

About the Role

The American Diabetes Association (ADA) is seeking an experienced fundraising professional to support all aspects of a peer-to-peer event-based portfolio, including oversight of event fundraiser development and engagement. This role will drive fundraising success for the Kiss a Pig Gala, State of Diabetes, and Camps in the Louisiana and Mississippi areas. Primary duties include managing existing and new teams, individual fundraisers, and volunteers.

Responsibilities

• Manage and review daily campaign data through reports, dashboards, and revenue analysis to identify opportunities for driving campaign revenue.
• Oversee a peer-to-peer fundraising portfolio generating $50,000 - $150,000 annually.
• Monitor the performance of a fundraising portfolio to ensure timely responsiveness to new registrants, accurate forecasting, recognition of fundraising and recruitment milestones, and maximization of retention and revenue.
• Conduct data mining to identify and acquire participants, team captains, corporate partners, sponsors, and community leaders.
• Maintain accurate and complete records of donor interactions within systems and trackers, ensuring contacts, next steps, and tasks are consistently captured.
• Manage $5k+ corporate and friends & family teams.
• Support other fundraising events, activities, and programs as assigned.
• Serve as staff lead for Event Day volunteer committee, responsible for key event day execution, including VIP experience, participation of individuals living with diabetes, event day volunteers, in-kind support, and other local opportunities.
• Support the development of the market’s local pipeline of constituents and event leaders to drive market activity.
• Identify and implement marketing opportunities, partnerships, influencer relationships, and other initiatives to increase ADA’s presence and awareness within the assigned market territory.
• Uphold and promote the vision, mission, priorities, and guiding principles of ADA.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree.
• 1+ years of professional experience in peer-to-peer fundraising, events, and volunteerism.
• Ability to present ADA’s mission and engagement opportunities to groups of all sizes.
• Experience recruiting and leading volunteers for event day execution.
• Demonstrated ability to recruit individuals to support an organization and mobilize them to achieve goals.
• Proven ability to identify opportunities for growth in relationships.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Initiative, independence, and ability to work well as part of a team.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, including creativity, independent judgment, attention to detail, accuracy, and follow-through.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, DonorDrive (or other P2P platforms), and CRM software.
• Ability to travel as needed for meetings and events (10% travel required).
• Willingness to work occasional nights and weekends to support events.
• Authorization to work in the U.S.
• Reliable transportation for travel.
• Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to fifteen pounds.

Pay

Base pay range: $45,000 - $52,000 per year. Base offers are determined by several factors including relevant work experience, education, certifications, location, and internal pay equity.
