Development Engineer

Position Summary

AICC, a division of Amphenol, is the market leader for high speed, high bandwidth electrical connectors for the Telecom/Datacom market. Our products enable the electronics revolution and are key enablers for major Tier 1 OEMs globally. We are seeking a Development Engineer to join our team in Valley Green, PA.

Responsibilities

• Conceptualize, design, and develop power connector solutions as required by the BU strategic roadmap and new business opportunities.
• Work with Front-end team and customers to define product/application requirements.
• Lead product design reviews and create and communicate technical presentations.
• Develop testing programs to ensure products work per design intent.
• Present product concepts to customers early in development cycle, interpret feedback, and incorporate any revised requirements into the design.
• Define Product, Application, and Packaging specifications.
• Define a verification and product qualification test plans.
• Work closely with NPI and manufacturing engineering to ensure products are transitioned to the manufacturing

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering
• 5+ years' experience
• Experience in connector design
• Proficient in 3D modeling using Solidworks
• General understanding of drawing standards such as ASME Y14.5
• Excellent understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing
• Ability to communicate well with Global Customers and all levels of the organization including Management, Marketing, Sales, Process Engineering, Test Lab personnel, other Engineers (local and global)
• Ability to prioritize, work to meet objectives and to manage multiple activities/projects simultaneously
• ANSYS or other FEA simulation experience
