Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of approximately 75–125 individual donors and prospects.
- Develop and execute individualized cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies.
- Conduct donor discovery visits, cultivation meetings, solicitation meetings, and stewardship touchpoints.
- Build meaningful relationships with donors while connecting philanthropic interests to agency priorities.
- Create donor proposals, impact reports, and funding opportunities.
- Collaborate with agency leadership to secure leadership and major gifts.
- Manage a strategic moves management program that advances prospects and donors through cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
- Identify, qualify, and engage new donors capable of making leadership and major gifts.
- Develop strategies to expand Goodman JFS's major donor pipeline.
- Create pathways for annual donors, event attendees, volunteers, and community members to become major donors.
- Partner with agency leadership and volunteers to uncover new donor prospects and referral opportunities.
- Partner with the Associate Director of Annual Fund & Events to identify annual donors with major gift potential.
- Ensure donors receive timely and meaningful stewardship and recognition.
- Identify and cultivate planned giving prospects within the donor portfolio.
- Support growth of the L'Dor V'Dor Legacy Society.
- Participate in legacy gift conversations with donors, professional advisors, and volunteer leaders.
- Partner with the Chief Development Officer, President & CEO, Board members, and volunteer leaders in donor cultivation and solicitation efforts.
- Support fundraising committees and donor engagement opportunities.
- Attend agency events and represent Goodman JFS throughout the community.
- Prepare donor strategies, briefing materials, and follow-up plans for leadership and volunteer partners.
- Maintain accurate donor records and moves management activity within the CRM.
- Track donor engagement, cultivation progress, and solicitation outcomes.
- Prepare portfolio reports and fundraising forecasts.
- Collaborate with Development, Marketing, Grants and Finance teams to support fundraising initiatives.
- Partner with Marketing & Communications to develop donor-centered stewardship and impact communications.
Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree is required. Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of fundraising, sales, business development, relationship management, or philanthropy experience.
- Demonstrated success building and managing donor, client, or stakeholder relationships.
- Proven ability to cultivate, solicit, and steward major donors or high-value clients.
- Experience utilizing moves management strategies to cultivate and advance donor relationships.
- Strong written and verbal communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience engaging with volunteers, community leaders, board members, and senior executives.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Experience with donor databases and CRM systems required. Bloomerang CRM experience preferred.
- Familiarity with the Jewish community, human services sector, healthcare, education, or nonprofit fundraising is a plus.
