Development DBA (PL/SQL)
About the role
Guidehouse is seeking a skilled Oracle Database Developer to join our team. This position requires a Bachelor's degree in computer science/management information systems or an associated discipline, or four (4) additional years of relevant experience, along with six (6) years of job-related experience as an Oracle Database Developer. The ideal candidate must possess strong knowledge and experience in Oracle PL/SQL and SQL, as well as the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
Responsibilities
- Strong knowledge and experience in Oracle PL/SQL and SQL functions, procedures, triggers, packages using Oracle 11g or newer
- Participate in production implementations, working closely with other members of the production support group to ensure the proper transition of system changes into production environments
- Create, modify, and tune SQL queries and PL/SQL code
- Perform general technical trouble shooting & give consultation to development teams
- Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve database and application performance issues, working closely with application, infrastructure, and support teams
- Ensure database environments follow best practices for reliability, scalability, and security
- Develop and maintain scripts for automation, data processing, and database maintenance and monitoring solutions using scripting languages including PL/SQL, Perl, and shell
- Provide application troubleshooting support, identifying root causes and implementing permanent resolutions
- Create and maintain technical documentation including system diagrams & operational procedures
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science/management information systems or an associated discipline or four (4) additional years of experience
- Six (6) years of job-related experience as an Oracle Database Developer
- Ability to create, modify, and tune SQL queries and PL/SQL code
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve data, system performance issues
- In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with Oracle SQL and PL/SQL, including triggers, procedures, functions, and packages
- Proficiency in SQL Developer, SQL Loader, and related Oracle tools
- Excellent analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and time-management skills
- Strong verbal and written communication and listening skills
- Prominent ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment, with strong planning and coordination capabilities
- High levels of self-motivation and adaptability, with the ability to meet aggressive deadlines
- Strong expertise in Oracle performance tuning, including SQL and PL/SQL optimization
- Proven ability to research and resolve complex technical problems in a distributed and complex IT environment, collaborating with both local and remote teams
Qualifications
- Knowledge with AWS cloud technologies like RDS, Lambda, EC2, Redshift is a plus
- Ability to work effectively both independently and within cross-functional teams
- May require participation in a 24X7 on-call rotation or overnight deployment

Benefits
The annual salary range for this position is $85,000.00-$141,000.00. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.

Pay
The annual salary range for this position is $85,000.00-$141,000.00. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
