Development Analyst II
About the role
The Development Analyst II supports Implementation, Support, and other operational teams by serving as a liaison between business stakeholders and technical partners. This role designs, builds, tests, and maintains Salesforce automations, workflows, flows, reports, dashboards, and process improvements to streamline workflows, improve data quality, reduce manual effort, and enhance the overall employee and client experience.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate, research, and coordinate resolution of issues, enhancement requests, and system-related concerns submitted by operational teams, determining appropriate paths for resolution and escalation.
- Design, build, test, and maintain Salesforce automations, workflows, flows, reports, dashboards, and process improvements that reduce manual effort and improve operational efficiency.
- Partner with business stakeholders to gather requirements, identify process improvement opportunities, and translate business needs into scalable system and automation solutions.
- Support Salesforce administration activities, including user support, data maintenance, system configuration, reporting, and adoption of new capabilities.
- Participate in testing and validation of product releases, enhancements, automations and bug fixes while coordinating testing efforts across operational teams.
- Utilize reporting tools, Salesforce data, and system analysis to identify trends, provide operational insights, and support data-driven decision making.
- Champion regular partnership meetings with Management, Product, and Development teams to review priorities, enhancements, defects, release updates, and technology opportunities.
- Serve as a subject matter expert and technical resource for Paylocity products, business processes, Salesforce, and other operational systems while supporting stakeholders with troubleshooting and guidance.
- Partner with Management, Training, and Quality teams to maintain process documentation, knowledge resources, and communication related to system enhancements, automations, and process changes.
- Identify recurring operational challenges, system inefficiencies, and data quality issues, recommending and implementing sustainable solutions that improve the employee and client experience.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently
- Ability to learn new technologies, systems, and business processes quickly
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively across multiple departments and levels of the organization to resolve business and system related issues
Preferred
- Prior experience supporting HR, Benefits, Payroll, HCM, or SaaS-based platforms
- Experience researching issues, troubleshooting business processes, or supporting operational systems
- Experience with Salesforce administration, reporting, dashboards, workflows, flows, automation, or user support
- SQL knowledge and the ability to perform data analysis and reporting
- Experience with software testing, system enhancements, process improvement initiatives, bug fixes or workflow automation
- Experience working with business systems, operational tools, or SaaS applications
- Knowledge of Paylocity products, payroll, benefits, time and labor, or HCM systems
- Experience supporting internally developed applications or business technology solutions
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit for extended periods: The role requires sitting at a desk or workstation for long periods, typically 7-8 hours a day.
- Use of computer and phone systems: The employee must be able to operate a computer, use phone systems, and type. This includes using multiple software programs and inquiries simultaneously.

Pay
The base pay range for this position is $55,000 - $75,000/yr; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
