Developer - Senior
12-month contract-to-hire position with hybrid work schedule (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday in office). Locations: Columbus, OH 43215 or Merrillville, IN 46410.
About the Role
This senior-level developer role supports the Archer Agile Product Line, including both Archer SaaS and Archer OnPrem environments for enterprise Integrated Risk Management (IRM) functions. The position involves design, build, configuration, testing, release readiness, and ongoing enhancements across Archer platforms. The developer will collaborate with Product Owners, Archer developers, business stakeholders, GRC super users, and Archer Professional Services resources to translate business requirements into scalable Archer solutions.
Responsibilities
- Provide support, maintenance, and enhancement technical activities under general direction.
- Direct junior/intermediate resources through the systems development life cycle.
- Respond to varying business requirements and perform assigned technical tasks including study, analysis, design, programming, and product installation.
- Interface with Customers, Business Analysts, Solution Architects, and IT Infrastructure regarding application availability and project-related information.
- Participate in and support all Service Processes, ensuring adherence to technical standards.
- Provide analytical ability and creativity in developing and implementing solution deliverables for large and medium-size projects.
- Offer technical advice to Project Managers, Team Leads, and provide technical direction to team members, including Service Providers, Approved Subcontractors, or Customer personnel.
- Provide proactive monitoring, alerting, reporting, testing, and communication with Team Leads and Project Managers.
- Translate business requirements into system, application, or process design, working with Customer personnel, Solution Architects, and Business Analysts.
- Lead efforts in detection and remedy of defects/issues identified during testing.
- Ensure application and security system documentation and technical training materials are developed and maintained.
- Configure and enhance Archer applications, questionnaires, workflows, dashboards, reports, notifications, data-driven events, and access controls.
- Develop and maintain API connections with ServiceNow, Workday, Qualys, MuleSoft, JavaScript, Ariba, etc.
- Support Agile sprint delivery, including requirements refinement, configuration, unit testing, UAT support, defect resolution, release planning, and production deployment support.
- Partner with stakeholders and super users to understand GRC processes and convert them into sustainable Archer workflows.
- Support new use case implementation and ongoing enhancement requests across SaaS and OnPrem environments.
- Build automation, reporting, evidence tracking, issue management, and scalable compliance capabilities to reduce manual workarounds.
- Support platform maturity efforts, including standardization, documentation, knowledge transfer, and reduction of single points of failure.
Requirements
- 7 years of experience in a developer role with Archer IRM platform.
- Experience with Archer SaaS and OnPrem environments.
- Knowledge of various project delivery methodologies (Iterative, Agile, Professional Scrum).
- Strong process orientation and analytical/problem-solving skills, including interpreting and clarifying technical issues.
- Demonstrated facilitation, written, and verbal communication skills, organizational skills, and ability to deliver clear, concise presentations.
- Strong leadership skills and ability to work cooperatively across an organization.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
- Experience working under tight deadlines and independently in high-priority situations.
- Understanding of business case justification methodology for process improvements or technology enhancements.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to manage conflict.
- Extremely organized, detail-oriented, and able to communicate with both business and technical experts.
- Utility background preferred but not required.
- ITIL v3 or v4 certification a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent discipline, or equivalent work experience.
- 40 hours of ongoing professional training per year, with at least 10 hours related to this role.
Skills
- Hands-on Archer administration and development/configuration experience, including configuring applications, questionnaires, workflows, fields, layouts, calculations, notifications, reports, dashboards, access roles, and data-driven events.
- Experience building and maintaining Archer data feeds, APIs, system integrations, data imports/exports, bulk updates, reporting, or workflow automation.
- Ability to troubleshoot data quality, mapping, and reporting issues.
- Experience working in Agile teams, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, user story development, testing, UAT support, defect resolution, and release readiness.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to partner with Product Owners, developers, super users, business stakeholders, and vendor partners.
- Experience with both Archer SaaS and OnPrem environments.
- Regulated industry or utility experience, particularly supporting risk, compliance, or cybersecurity capabilities.
- Familiarity with frameworks or regulatory areas such as NIST CSF, NERC CIP, NERC 693, TSA, SOX, third-party risk, or enterprise compliance.
- GRC domain knowledge, including governance, risk, compliance, issue management, policy management, third-party risk, cybersecurity risk, regulatory compliance, or audit processes.
Schedule
Hybrid schedule requiring in-office presence on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Work hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM ET, with flexibility for releases after hours.
