About the role
We're looking for a Developer Evangelist to lead our growing developer community. Your responsibilities will include:
Responsibilities
- Invest in and grow the developer community we already have: the forum, the Discord, the GitHub presence, the regular touchpoints that make builders feel genuinely supported.
- Be the person developers trust: answering questions, closing the loop on feedback, and making sure the people building on Healthie know they're not on their own.
- Run events, AMAs, and office hours that connect our community directly to our product and engineering teams.
- Develop the content plan that maps to our platform story — what we publish, where, how often, and for whom.
- Create the diagrams, stack guides, and reference architectures that help developers immediately understand how Healthie fits into their broader tech stack and support them as those decisions change over time.
- Audit what we have, identify the gaps, and drive a meaningful upgrade to our developer-facing docs — guides, quickstarts, code samples, and reference material.
- Develop guidance specifically optimized for LLM-assisted development, so that customers building on Healthie via AI coding tools have clear rails to work within and a dramatically better experience.
- Work closely with Engineering to ensure our documentation reflects hard rules around things like rate limits and query depth (the guardrails that make building on Healthie safe and predictable).
- Represent Healthie at conferences, developer meetups, hackathons, and healthcare tech events.
- Partner with Sales and Solutions teams to bring "show, don't tell" to conversations — live demos, real examples, a tangible sense of what's buildable.
- Help retire "yes, but you'd need to do it via the API" from our vocabulary for good. Own the live demo tool that helps our customers know how they can best leverage Healthie within their tech stack.
Requirements
You must have:
- Experience in developer relations, technical marketing, or a role that sat at the intersection of technical and external-facing work.
- The ability to read, write, and reason about code, enough to produce credible examples, evaluate what's working in a quickstart, and hold a substantive conversation with an engineer.
- Strong instincts for developer experience: you notice when docs are confusing, when onboarding flows lose people, and you're motivated to fix it.
- A community builder at heart. You know that a developer community isn't a Slack channel, it’s a mentality grounded in obsessing over the API.
- An interest in healthcare. You don't need to have worked in healthcare, but you need to find healthcare (compliance, workflows, the stakes involved) important.
Qualifications
You should have:
- Full-time, NYC Hybrid (2-3 days in office)
- U.S. work authorization required
- Salary: $115,000 - $135,000 base plus equity, annual bonus, + benefits
Benefits
Healthie offers:
- Intro call with Talent (15 minutes)
- Interview with our Director of Product Marketing (30 minutes)
- (Onsite) Group round & Presentation (60 mins): A short presentation on your approach to building a developer community, with a specific take on how you'd approach it at Healthie — followed by a portfolio conversation where you walk us through content (demos, blogs, social, etc) you've created or a community you've built.
- Interview with Cavan (CTO) (15 minutes each)
- Reference checks
