Developer
Responsibilities
- Develop and support backend services that help process and publish pricing updates across a large enterprise platform.
- Build, enhance, and maintain RESTful APIs that support reliable, high-volume business operations.
- Design and implement Kafka producer and consumer workflows for event-driven processing.
- Contribute to both modernized architecture and existing production systems as part of an ongoing platform transformation.
- Work with relational databases such as Oracle and PostgreSQL, as well as distributed NoSQL technologies like Cassandra.
- Troubleshoot issues, write quality code, test solutions thoroughly, and deliver production-ready work with minimal guidance.
- Collaborate closely with engineering partners across U.S. and India-based teams and participate in meetings during Central Time business hours.
Requirements
- Strong professional experience developing enterprise applications in Java.
- Hands-on experience building and supporting REST APIs in production environments.
- Deep experience with Kafka, including both producer and consumer implementations.
- Experience with relational databases such as Oracle and/or PostgreSQL.
- Familiarity with distributed NoSQL databases such as Cassandra.
- Ability to ramp up quickly in a large existing codebase and contribute independently.
Skills
- Working knowledge of Kotlin, or the ability to become productive in Kotlin quickly.
- Experience working in modular monorepo architectures.
- Background in framework-light or framework-free Java environments.
- Familiarity with RocksDB.
- Experience supporting high-throughput, event-driven, or large-scale distributed systems.
- Retail, pricing, or eCommerce platform experience.

The pay range for this role is $49 - $85 per hour based on qualifications and experience.
