Dev/Research Engineer 2

W2, onsite, full-time ongoing contract in Chillicothe, IL.

About the role

We are seeking a Test Engineer to develop, conduct, analyze, and manage engine structures & dynamics validation tests using industry standards and technologies. The candidate must evaluate complex structural failure modes and provide technical guidance to drive NTI, NPI, and CPI product solutions.

Responsibilities

• Utilize data acquisition systems (eDAQ, LMS, cDAQ) to analyze data (linear vibration, stress/strain, ME-SCOPE, LMS).
• Perform modal testing, coordinate design and procurement of prototype hardware, and set up tests (instrumentation & gaging as appropriate).
• Establish strong ties with the client and collaborate with multiple teams (design and simulation).
• Engage in project planning, report generation, and communication of conclusions & results.
• Conduct on-engine and bench testing for core engine systems (including genset package, Rotating Components, Cylinder Pack, Head & Block).

Requirements

• 2+ years of testing experience.
• BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering.
• Basic understanding of internal combustion engines & machinery.
• Strong initiative, good technical communication skills, and an understanding of customer needs and product application.

Pay

$30–$37/hour depending on experience and benefits.
