DETOX ADMISSIONS SPECIALIST
About the Role
Stonington Institute, a division of Universal Health Services, Inc. (UHS), is seeking a Detox Admissions Specialist to coordinate client admissions. We provide quality substance abuse treatment options for adults in Southeastern Connecticut and surrounding areas, including medical detox, residential treatment for military service members, partial hospitalization, and intensive outpatient programs. Our facilities accept private insurance, state-funded plans, and self-pay arrangements.
Responsibilities
- Conduct face-to-face assessments and crisis intervention for potential admissions.
- Schedule appointments and coordinate the intake and admission process at treatment sites.
- Confirm appropriate level of care and facilitate the admission process.
- Coordinate communication with referral sources, families, clients, and designated treatment staff.
- Perform cross-trained duties as a Detox Support Specialist (DSS).
- Complete admission paperwork, manage referral relations, and maintain interdepartmental communication.
- Handle documentation and data entry of all inquiry calls.
- Provide excellence in customer service.
Qualifications
- High School diploma required.
- CNA or medical assistant certification preferred.
- Previous experience working in a substance abuse facility preferred.
