Detention Security Officer -Full Time Unarmed

As a Detention Security Officer - Full Time Unarmed in Charleston, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a government location, you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and provide exceptional customer service and communication. This driving position requires a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to staff, visitors, and/or authorized personnel while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities within a correctional facility environment.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, access points, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
• Monitor access to designated areas, verify credentials as directed, and report unauthorized entry attempts or policy violations to appropriate personnel.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established post orders and escalation procedures.
• Document patrols, incidents, observations, and interactions accurately in required logs and reports; communicate relevant information to supervisors and facility personnel.

Requirements

• A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
• Possess at least 1 year of law enforcement experience, 2 years of security supervisor/manager experience, or 3 years of security-related experience.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
