Duties
- Taking custody of prisoners from arresting officers.
- Processing prisoners into the City's booking facility.
- Searching prisoners and securing prisoners' personal property.
- Fingerprinting and taking mug shots.
- Completing required documentation and forms.
- Operating computers to obtain warrant and record information.
- Maintaining jail facilities and equipment.
- Safely transporting prisoners when necessary.
- Working in cooperation with Maricopa County Sheriff's Office personnel at the county jail.
Pay
SALARY
Pay Range: $26.70 to $39.45 per hour.
Hiring Range: $26.70 to $30.92 per hour.

The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, training, and internal equity. Minimum Qualifications
- One year of experience handling prisoners as a detention officer or other related corrections experience.
- Successful completion of the MCSO or PPD detention officer academy.
- Equivalent to a high school diploma or G.E.D.
- Other combinations of experience and education that meet the minimum requirements may be substituted.
Preferred Qualifications
- The minimum qualifications listed above, plus experience:
- With customer service.
- With Microsoft Outlook Suite.
- Working in law enforcement, the criminal justice field, or similar environment.
- Prior Detention Officer experience.
