Detention Deputy

Duties and Responsibilities

• Receive and process inmates
• Enforce disciplinary procedures for the control of inmate’s behavior
• Prepare reports and documents necessary for operational procedures
• Prepare arrest documents for individuals at the Inmate Facility and those brought to the facility by various law enforcement officials

Minimum Selection Criteria

• Graduation from High School or possession of a High School Equivalency Diploma recognized by the State of Florida
• Graduation from a regionally accredited college or university with an Associates or Bachelor’s Degree (preferred)
• Currently Florida Certified in Law Enforcement or attending a Law Enforcement Academy
• Not having been convicted of any felony or misdemeanor involving perjury or false statement
• Not having received a dishonorable or general discharge from any branch of the Armed Forces
• Having the capability to perform the minimum standards appropriate to this agency
• Being knowledgeable of the Florida Model Jail Standards
• Holding a valid Florida driver’s license

$63,207 (Includes Built-in OT and Holiday Pay) *$26.96/hour*
