Detention Deputy

About the role

The Detention Deputy maintains the security of the Chaffee County Detention Center while preserving order to ensure the safety and welfare of staff, visitors, and inmates. The Detention Deputy performs a full range of correctional duties and works under general supervision. This position operates under emergency services, requiring the ability to work varying shifts and on-call circumstances where short-notice coverage is needed.

Requirements

• At least 18 years of age
• High school diploma or GED

Pay

Hourly wage range of $27.72–$29.00, dependent on qualifications (DOQ).

Schedule

Full-time, non-exempt position with every other Friday, Saturday, and Sunday off.
