About the Role

Teph Seal Auto Appearance, a privately-held company, operates detail/reconditioning centers in auto dealerships across the United States. We are hiring for two levels of Detail Specialist:

• Detail Specialist 1 – Some experience required
• Detail Specialist 2 – 2+ years of experience required

The detailer maintains store facilities to produce high-quality service, ensures customer satisfaction through quality service/products, courteous employees, and quick response to inquiries and complaints.

Responsibilities

• Wash vehicle exteriors using various cleaning solutions
• Wax and buff vehicles using cloths and buffing machines
• Vacuum interiors to remove dirt and debris
• Clean upholstery and surfaces
• Use air compressors and cloths to dry surfaces and apply preservation chemicals for protection against spots and stains
• Apply dyes, paints, and waxes to protect leather or fabric
• Clean and remove grease from engines or engine compartments
• Drive, detail, and clean vehicles
• Perform quality inspection of own work and that of team members
• Work with a sense of urgency that demonstrates value for customers' time
• Adhere to uniform and grooming standards
• Carry out additional duties as assigned by management due to operational needs

Working Conditions

• Physically demanding: frequent bending, lifting, reaching, squatting, and getting into/out of vehicles repeatedly
• May require work outdoors under varying climate conditions
• Work with and move numerous vehicles daily
• Use safe, OSHA-approved waxes and cleaners (window cleaner, tar remover, tire shine, etc.)
• Frequent flexing of spine, hands, wrists, and fingers
• Occasional pushing, pulling, lifting, or carrying up to 50 lbs
• Constantly receive detailed information through oral communication
• Clarity of vision and hearing required
• Ability to distinguish small imperfections (streaks, smudges, missed vacuuming, etc.)

Requirements

• 1+ years of detailing experience (Detail Specialist 1); 2+ years (Detail Specialist 2)
• Valid driver's license with a good driving record
• Ability to drive both automatic and manual transmission vehicles
• Ability to learn quickly and work as part of a team
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions
• Desire to treat each customer's vehicle with great care and respect
• Willingness to arrive on time and stay on task during shift
• Availability to work Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays as needed to meet production demands
• Commitment to punctual attendance
• Successful completion of drug and background screening (drug-free workplace)
