About the Role
The CPT-Detail Polish role at Artivion's Austin facility focuses on the detail polish portion of On-X LTI production. This includes hand polishing, shaping, or blending small intricate parts using jeweler-type equipment and microscopes, as well as visually and dimensionally inspecting components for conformance to written specifications.
Responsibilities
- Visually inspect components with the aid of a microscope fitted with a reticle, understanding cosmetic and functional discrepancies to make pass/fail decisions.
- Detail polish components using established methods and materials to remove anomalies while maintaining dimensions, utilizing small hand-held power tools, collets, and polishing compounds.
- Operate component cleaning and laser etch equipment per written procedures, monitoring and documenting results.
- Shape or blend substrates or coated components effectively using various techniques per written procedures.
- Perform in-process measurements using microscope reticles, profilometers, calipers, or similar equipment.
- Control traceability of components and ensure proper sign-off of traveler and/or computer documentation.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area and equipment.
- Complete tasks as directed by manufacturing schedules with minimal supervision.
- Observe safety practices and identify/recommend changes to solve daily process problems.
- Understand and follow company and departmental policies and practices, keeping the supervisor informed of work status and progress.
Qualifications
- 2 years in a manufacturing environment, preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in inspection, assembly, or similar intricate hand work, preferred.
- Understanding of FDA & ISO manufacturing practices.
- Ability to perform visual inspections using a microscope for extended periods.
- Good manual dexterity for handling small parts.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret written instructions.
- Basic computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office, internet, and electronic mail.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English, with the ability to follow verbal and written instructions and perform simple math.
