Desktop Technician

About the role

A healthcare industry organization is seeking experienced Desktop Technician 2 consultants to provide hands-on, on-site technical support. This role supports the complete desktop hardware and software lifecycle, including workstation deployment, employee onboarding, access provisioning, troubleshooting, and ongoing support for both local and remote users.

Location: On-site — Long Beach, California. Start date: ASAP. Duration: 3 months, with potential extension or conversion to a full-time role. Two openings available.

Responsibilities

• Support hardware and software lifecycle activities, including research, packaging coordination, quality assurance, and deployment readiness.
• Configure, deploy, and refresh desktop and laptop equipment for new and existing employees.
• Assist with account setup and access provisioning for email, directory services, VPN, and internal applications.
• Provide timely technical support to on-site and remote end users.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, access, desktop, laptop, and mobile-device issues.
• Perform workstation installations, imaging, configuration, maintenance, and replacement activities.
• Document incidents, resolutions, asset updates, and support activities in accordance with team procedures.

Requirements

• High school diploma or associate degree in a technical discipline.
• Working knowledge of Windows and macOS environments.
• Hands-on experience installing, configuring, and supporting desktop hardware and software.
• Experience troubleshooting desktop, laptop, peripheral, and mobile-device issues.
• Strong customer-service skills and ability to communicate clearly with end users.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Active Directory or comparable identity and access management tools.
• Experience with endpoint imaging, deployment, and asset-management processes.
• Familiarity with VPN support, email configuration, and enterprise collaboration tools.

Schedule

40 hours per week.
